Mary Markley

Kindergarten & Grade 1 English Teacher Assistant

Mary is an English teaching assistant on the kindergarten team and is excited to begin her second year at Shu Ren. Originally from Burlington, Vermont, she moved to the Bay Area in 2018 to study Linguistics and German at Stanford University, where she earned her BA and MA. She brings years of experience working with children in summer camps, after-school programs, and tutoring settings. Passionate about language and creative learning, Mary enjoys designing hands-on projects that encourage children to explore, imagine, and discover. She is also learning Mandarin alongside her students this year. Outside of school, she enjoys baking elaborate birthday cakes, painting murals, and climbing trees.
